Marly K hails from a fabled land where the men strut their stuff and the women get down.
Her harem of muses includes Cervantes, Aquiles Nazoa, Mafalda and Libertad, The Doors, Soledad Bravo, Duke Ellington, Dinah Washington, and the little voices in her head who refuse to give their names.
As a student in high school, Ms. K won a four year full-tuition paid scholarship to The School of Visual Arts, where she studied film. There she came under the hypnotic cultural influences of Jean Renoir, Luis Buñuel, and other master magicians of the silver screen. While at SVA, the ethos of resourceful collaboration was ingrained in her professional psyche. She also holds an MFA in Creative Non-Fiction from The New School. Among her friends and intimates, Ms. K has made a name for herself as an inveterate daydreamer, cheerleader for the underdog, and dogged champion of righteous bitches.
She believes in everyone's inalienable right to a good night's sleep, soulful companionship, and heaps of good grub. Ms. K lives in cozy companionship with her delusions in New York City.
